Locking Choker with Key: How It Closes
Close the collar slowly around the neck, taking care not to pinch skin in the hinge. Align the tab and give the hex screw one or two turns with the key. To open, turn it back one or two turns; never remove the screw entirely, as it is tiny and easy to lose. Keep the key, or a spare, somewhere both partners know.
How to size a locking collar
Measure around the base of the neck with a soft tape, divide by 3.14 to get the diameter, then add a few millimetres so one finger fits between steel and skin. Our collars range from 100 to 150 mm inner diameter. The supplier notes each one is finished by hand and can vary by about 2 mm, so choose the larger size if you are between two.
