Size Guide: Body Chains, Collars and Harnesses

Most sizing mistakes with body jewelry come from measuring the wrong place. Use a soft tape measure, on bare skin, where the piece will actually sit.

Waist chain and belly chain size

Measure around your body exactly where the chain will rest. The natural waist is the narrowest point; a hip chain sits 3 to 5 cm lower and needs about 8 cm more length. Choose a chain whose length plus extender covers your measurement.

Your measurement Chain length to choose
60–75 cm (24–29.5 in) 60 or 70 cm + extender
75–90 cm (29.5–35.5 in) 70 or 80 cm + extender
90–110 cm (35.5–43 in) 90 cm + 20 cm extender

Chest chain and bra chain fit

Chest chains hang from the neck and fasten behind the back. Measure your underbust: the back strap must reach around it with the clasp in the middle of the extender. The neck loop should let the front layers sit on the bust, not above it.

Day collar and choker size

Measure around the base of the neck. A rigid steel collar needs room for one finger between metal and skin; add about 1 cm to your measurement. Leather chokers with buckles adjust over several holes.

Thigh chain and harness size

For a thigh chain or leg garter, measure the thigh 5 to 10 cm below the hip crease, where the band will sit. For a body harness, measure underbust and waist and compare them with the size chart in the product photos. Faux leather does not stretch.

Nipple piercing jewelry gauge

The standard nipple gauge is 14G (1.6 mm). If you are not sure of yours, ask your piercer before ordering.
